The 2004 Adrenalin Awards and Skate Jam Weekend is fast approaching. This year's Adrenalin Awards was the first of it's kind and turned out to be a great success.

The Adrenalin Skate Jam Weekend began its annual run in February 2000. In 2003, a new concept was added, the Adrenalin Awards Ceremony. The Adrenalin Awards Ceremony is the Free Style Roller Skater's version of the Grammy Awards or the Soul Train Music Awards. The weekend consists of a formal sit-down dinner and Awards Ceremony, followed by dancing and two nights of skating at the Elsmere Skating Center and Skate Store in Wilmington, Delaware. This site was chosen as the host city for the Adrenalin Awards due to the rink being one of the best facilities in which to skate, according to cleanliness, floor surface and friendly staff. The City of Wilmington is centered between several major East Coast cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., all connected by Interstate 95 and all within 2 hours driving distance of Wilmington in both directions.

The Adrenalin Awards consists of twenty award categories such as Best Male and Female Skater, Best Fast and Slow Couple, Favorite Skate Club, Largest Skate Club, Favorite Vendor, Favorite Website, Best Party of the Year 2003 and Lifetime Achievement Award to name a few. The nominees are selected by a committee that consists of skaters in different parts of the country. The winners are voted on by the public through an online voting ballot.

The Adrenalin Award is not based on a contest therefore skaters cannot compete for an award. The winners are selected by their peers as their choice according to the skills and selection criteria exhibited on the skate floor or in the skating community, either at their local rink or at a national function.

Three-0-Two Entertainment and SkateGroove.com, the hosts of the Adrenalin Awards and Skate Jam Weekend would like to invite all skaters to Delaware on April 30 and May 1, 2004. Information about the 2004 Adrenalin Awards and Skate Jam will be posted on the SkateGroove.com website in the coming months.

Adrenalin Winner Interviews

We interviewed some of the 2003 Adrenalin Awards winners to find out what they had to say and how they felt about winning an award. These skaters have been made history for being the first to win this award in what we hope is the start of national recognition for the talent that we exhibit in the name of roller skating.
