What's up, skate fam! What can I say? Where shall I begin? First,
I want to thank everyone who came out this weekend to support our
first skate jam. Thanks to all of you, it was a huge success! Despite
the fact that we unintentionally cut into Mother's Day a bit, you
still showed mad love, and we appreciate all of you for that. Because
of the love and energy you brought with you, we turned this skate
jam into a 48hr PARTY!! I usually don't like to single out people
by name because I'm always afraid I'll leave someone out who I have
equally as much love for. However, it just wouldn't feel right if
I didn't personally acknowledge the love and appreciation shown
by Joe Carter in his rep about our skate jam. Brotha, I didn't realize
you were stalkin' us! lol. Thank you so much for acknowledging our
hard work. Freckles, girl, you are and have always been our "cheerleader"!
Thanks for loving us so much. I was overjoyed almost to tears when
I saw my man Poetry-in-Motion in the house on Saturday. He made
my night! Judging by how he looked on his skates, you would never
believe that this brotha was in a near-fatal accident less than
a year ago! He's definitely on his way back! ( by the way, Poetry,
you still owe me a couples' skate). Desi, thanks so much for coming
out and showing us your love and support. It warmed my heart to
see your face in the place! ( we peeped you shakin' your groove
thang during roll call, too!! lol). Greg of The Midwest All-Stars,
it's always a pleasure to party with you. Prodi-G, wait till I see
you again. You're gonna get it! You pied Chi-Force to death!! You
got so baad, you were hustlin' your skate fam for dollars! But we
love you, though. You made the experience a lot of fun. Big ups
to Brenda and the rest of our Canada skate fam. Chi-Force dropped
the ball on your roll call, but we'll make it up to you next year.
Big thanks to "Ice" for driving 13hrs by himself to party
with us. Now that's LOVE! Sexy Black, you came up on Friday night
just to show your love at our 70's Party and had to leave on Saturday
for Mother's Day, and we appreciate you for that. Naptown, you came
with the BIG BUS! You guys are like family. Dr. Soul and the Dogg
Pound, what can I say? We love you guys. You did your thang! I could
go on and on with thanks and comments, but then in all honesty I'd
have to list everyone by name who was at the Jam, and that would
take forever! Just know that I had so much fun with all of you that
I'll have memories to last a lifetime! To all who couldn't make
it this year, we hope to see your face in the place next year. That's
right! We're doin' it again, so stay tuned!! Until then, keep the
love goin', and Chi-Force looks foward to seeing you at your skate
jam in the very near future.
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

What Skaters,
Praise to God for a great
Weekend! Wow , If you wasn`t not in Chicago this weekend I hope
you had a great reason because Chi-Force knock one out the park!!!!!!From
beginning to end the event was will put together. To the Chi-force
family you guy operated like a well oiled skate wheel. NOW THAT
THE TRUTH ! Now on the other hand Dre stole my cell phone, I think
G-money kept my change, Phillyis got me lost on the way to the park
, Ice Cold tried to take my Girl , Silk kick my plate, while smackin
Lady Q with a pie , and speaking of Lady q she got hit with a pie
SOOOOO hard she hit a backward flip twice. That my kind of party
,i can`t wait until next year. SAVE my same seat. If that was all
that happen it would have been enough for me but it didn`t stop
there. Chi-Force skit was funny as h---,the food was great too.
Oops i forgot to mention the Dog pound ,I know everybody loves the
Dog pound . I use to love yall to until yall stole the all of the
chicken. To my in-law Milkshake and Syncere i don`t which one of
yall is the worst Milkshake battling that lil girl in St. louis
or Syncere slamdunking chi-force with those pies.
So much luv to Uncle
Kevin and the crew from flint, Big George and his fam G.R. and President
Joe Carter and his cabinet from lansing , Michigan did they thang.
INDY got down as well, everyone from Tony,Dawg&Mrs Dawg , Skatenation
and Naptown real rollers. More big luv to Mrs G. Allen (Lisa) it`s
always good see you, how are the children doing.I had a chance to
holla at some other skaters out of Ohio and they kept it so real
it was not funny. Trend$etta, Stacy ,sexy black(a tru dime ) Miss
Akron Ohio of 2008, you know who you are,the lovly originators,
and everybody else. It was great seeing the Angel from Nc (Terri&
briggett). To the flyboys from Louisville we will be down there
to see you at the end of the month . Did anybody see Rainbo new
look, she is even HOTTER ,by the way Cd-man that was not a flying
nutcracker and you get a patch for going to D-breez on you. OOPS
, to the IHOP crew what does thug spelled backward. To CMW, JbElite,
Sk&SQ, Ruff Roller, and to my home boys IJB yall always give
a great show, but there no one cooler then the way cool rollers.
Ice from philly you are truly one of the great one`s but did you
see Mo dimples, and yes i was stalking you but i ran out of gas

Hey sk8 family,I want
to first thank God, for getting us all to and from Illinois, safely.
That was definitely a long ride, that was worth it. For those of
you who missed the Chi-Force Skate Jam, for whatever reason, really
missed a party, that I will never forget. Well lets see, where shall
I start...the meet and greet, was nice, Primetime and Dre was cheating,
while playing cards. It seems like your rules kept changing, lol.
The Rich City rink, was nice, the floor was so smooth, even I was
able to get my roll on, smile, there was disco lights, and smoke
coming from the ceiling, how cool is that. We skated to 70s music
all nite, that's right up my alley, love me some old school music,
they had the soul train line, old school pickup lines, best 70s
outfit, and Chi-Force, performed, very nice and very creative. That's
their middle name, CREATIVE, that's comes from a lot of practicing
and dedication.Saturday, round two (ding), the picnic...the food
was good, the pie in the face was too fun, I wonder who got the
most pie in their face? U should have seen Chi-Force faces, it was
all in fun. I know people ran out of cash buying the pies, then
on with the main event...marvelous, the food was goooood, especially
the PEACH COBBLER, thanks to Silk's mom, hey Silk, tell your mom,
I will pay her for a pan of peach cobbler, hit me up bout that.
Smile (I'm serious, tho) I'm still full, lol. The music was nice,
the DJ, did the darn thing, it was a nice, nice crowd, the roll
call was cool, because, we all got nice lengthy songs(that's what's
up), then the performance, I thouroughly enjoyed, 2 Smooth was jamming,
Ice Coldd, how did u jump over all of Chi-Force? Smile. Now I'm
back home, and I am EXHAUSTED! Its going to take me a week to recoup!!I
want to give shout outs to, Pepzi, Raw Talent, Spades, Dogg Pound(ruff),
Originators, Dyme Rollers, Melicia, Bubbles, Tay-Woooo(thanks for
driving), CMW, Bee 1, The Syndacates, JB ELite, and if I didn't
say your name, please forgive me, I'm still alittle lethargic, but
if you know me, then I know you.Smile.Well gotta go now, I think
I wrote a book, lol. See you all soon, much love.FRECKLES

A weekend of fun was had by
all,
Especially at the highlight, the AREDNALIN BALL.
We strutted and posed in gowns galore,
The gents were sharp as they strolled through the doors.
Nikki and G Man were doing the do,
With Brenda running around with the rest of the crew!
Lights, camera, action were in full effect,
To greet everyone ‘cause all hands were on deck.
Now skating was the thing that brought us to Delaware,
But the ladies were careful not to mess up their hair!
‘Cause Saturday you now we had to look right,
Which was hard to do after skating with all our might!
But we pulled it off without a slip,
But a trip to Rite Aid was needed because of a bruised hip!
Now Angie and Peaches kept my spirits up,
But some coffee was needed and I mean a full cup!
We skated on Friday like we lost our minds,
‘cause the Elsmere DJ’s were truly a great find!
They kept us moving and grooving ‘til dawns early light,
We missed our turn did you say turn left or right?
Okay, we took the scenic route back to the hotel,
Oh yeah, I forgot to say what’s up to my boy Ronnel!
Now Saturday night was off the hook,
I hope you guys purchased the ADRENALIN SOUVENEIR BOOK!
From beginning to end the weekend was such a delight,
I hope you all made your Sunday morning flights!
‘Cause you know we were tired on day number three,
But Adrenalin 2008 was the place to be!!!!!!
To all the winners and the
nominees, Congratulations! You ALL definitely deserved a weekend
that highlighted your skills, your dedication and your passion towards
skating.
To Nikki, G Man and Ms. Brenda,
THANK YOU for taking the time, energy and dedication to bring us
such a quality and classy event! I can only imagine all the obstacles
you endured in putting on something like ADRENALIN 2008, but your
hard work did not go without notice! The power of three truly prevailed
and I look forward to next year! God Bless…
To Diddy & Jit, my VA Cuties-All
that you both have come to be is truly amazing! Your positive attitudes
and love of skating is truly refreshing and that is why so many
people look your way!
Angie-VA Skate Connection (VA),
Peaches (VA Beach), Tanya (NJ), Sugar Bear Shorty (VA), Ronnel (VA
Beach), Ms. Netta (blow the whistle-you are truly a joy), Yvette
& Darren, Glen (NY bwo NY), Tunisia (VA)and her roomies, Kappa
Chris, Philly Mike, The Chi-Town Crew, the entire VA Crew, Hez (the
trophies were unbelievable-what a gift you have), Donnie and the
entire NSC Crew, and the Carolina Cruisers…It is always a
pleasure to see so from my extended skate family! I look forward
to seeing all of you soon and very soon!

Just back from Chi-Force's
sizzling "1st Flight Aboard Chi-Force One" Skate Jam weekend
in Chicago. Mega- props to Dre, Lady Q, Graceful, Shining Star,Matt,
G-Money, Silk, Invincible, and the rest of the Chi-Force family
for putting on a magnificent Jam in Chi-Town this past weekend.
The hospitality toward your guests from the time we arrived was
first class!
The 70's party was fantastic (DJ played some fabulous "back
in the day" jams that had some of us reminiscing about the
old days...hahaha), the skating fantastic both nights, the jam at
the park was too much fun (it was a shame the way folks was slapping
pies in the faces of Chi-Force members, then laughing about it!!
Ya'll know who you
are....hahahaha), great food both days, incredible skating, terrific
raffle prizes, enlightening conversations, nice hotel accomodations,
fine restaurants and shopping, and the list goes on and on! If you
missed the MAIN EVENT Saturday night, you missed a scintillating
night of skating. So many superstars and mega stars were in the
house. That party was jammin' nonstop, and it was definitely NOT
for the fearful or faint-hearted out on the floor most of the night.
And folks were NOT playin' on Roll Call! There was some serious
showin' out going on!!
Matter of fact, all night long it seemed like everybody in the house
was skating like they had something to prove! Shout outs to CD Man
(nice talkin' to you, man. I'll make St. Louis next year), DAWG
(Naptown), Gerald (Chi), Milkshake (You're a gem. It's nice to finally
put a face with the name), Raw Talent, Spade, Pepzi, and Beijing
(bout time you came skatin' again, girl), Judi-C.M.W. (It was great
fun talking to you, and thank you and your crew for doing my favorite
CMW move that you did in the middle), Ice (It was a ball hangin'
out with you, man. See ya next time). JEREMY FROM CHICAGO-Man, you
KNOW you clowned at the IHOP when we all went to breakfast Sat.
morning!!! You had all of us from Michigan, Milwaukee, Chi-Town,
and even the IHOP staff laughing so hard that you've been banned
because the staff couldn't get their work done, cause they were
laughing so hard. You are without question the craziest man in Chicago!!!
Further shout outs to Greg (Milwaukee), Dr.Soul and the entire Dogg
Pound crew (enjoyed ya'll immensely), Connie, Kevin, Kendra, Richard,
and Peaches (Flint), Donnie, Mike, Nate, George, Jeff, Neicy (Grand
Rapids),My own skate partner Winona (Lansing),Kim, Desi (SkateGroove),D-Breeze,
Sylvella and Originators, Angela (Lansing), Naptown (thanks for
the great bus tour, guys), Ms. Sherri, Robert and crew (Canada),
Ms. Rollin' Diva (very nice chatting with you), all the Chicago
JB Skate clubs, Mr. and Mrs.
Merrick, skaters from Ohio, California, St. Louis, K.C., and the
Rich City Skating ownership and staff.
You were magnificent! ONE FINAL NOTE: I happened to go to the Rich
City skating rink early Saturday evening after I left the cookout
at the park. While there, I watched the entire Chi-Force crew come
in straight from working the cookout at the park, and help tutor
and encourage the kids at a young people's skating session. They
had been working all Friday and Saturday with hardly any sleep,
yet they took the time to give a couple of hours to a couple hundred
youth, even though they had to get ready for their Skate Jam main
event a few hours later that night. Several of the adults in attendance
told me that helping kids is the norm for Chi-Force, and that they're
dedicated to helping the youth of Chicago stay off the streets,
and grow up to become productive citizens in the community. They
said those kids love Chi-Force, and love skating. I hope I don't
embarrass them by bringing this up, but I think it's admirable and
noteworthy that they are much loved, highly thought of, and having
a positive impact on the Chicago community. A very nicely choreographed
weekend, and a marvelous 1st Annual Skate Jam, Chi-Force!!
Congratulations, and keep up the great work!!! Until
next time....

First off, thank God without
whom none of this would be possible. Happy Mothers day to all the
Moms who made us. I would like to give a shout out up North to the
old Roxy Crew, The Rink in Bergenfield, Skate Key, Laces, Empire,
Skaters World, BranchBrook, Philly, Montvale, and all the other
places that might have closed down. Big ups to Pops, Chuckie Groins,
Terry & Eddie Campos (may you roll in peace, we haven't forgotten
you), Much love and learned much.
I wish I was back up North
because there is NO place like the skaters in NY/NJ. Much props
to the peeps in CALI, IL, ATL, MIA and all the other true old school
skaters from the 1970's and forgive me if I've forgotten a few places.
One thing I must say is that these new Jam skaters have no idea
what true skating is all about. It's one thing to clean the floor
and another thing to be smooth and have style. That only comes with
time. You are never to old or young to learn. Keep Rolling. God
Bless.

Greetings Style Skate Family! This weekend after receiving a Adrenalin
Social Service award for Our Family Skate Association (OFSA) there
was not the opportunity to say a few words of thanks, against this
backdrop I write with mixed emotions…We have just learn that
Bill Howland a skate elder originally from Cleveland, Ohio but living
and skating in the DMV area for decades transitioned this past Saturday
at the age of 82. It seems fitting that his passing occurred during
the Adrenaline Awards weekend that kicked off the Royal Court inductions
acknowledging those who have paved and supported the paving of our
unique skate legacy. Mr. Howland in all the years that he skated
in the DMV area set an example of calm composure and grace with
his warm smile and soft voice. He embodied the characteristics of
a Royal Court inductee in his quiet way supporting, encouraging,
and modeling the best that roller skating was and could be in our
community. Not necessarily a mover, shaker, or innovator but a solid,
steady, constant, important part of the community. A tall slim gentleman
who in later years you would see dress in black skating backwards
during the first hour or so at skate sessions several times a week,
he suffered with back problems and to the amazement of doctors he
found skating backwards not just bearable but therapeutic. For me
it seems he was always there, when we started the roller skating
archive he was one of the first to sit with us and share not just
his incredible skate story but treasured items from his personal
collection. One of the items he submitted is feature in the Legacy
book highlighting the collection at Howard University’s Moorland
Spingran Research Center. Through his story it became clear where
he developed his particular skate style and why he was always well
dressed at the rink. To hear just a little of who he was away from
the rink was to know that anyone who tries to pigeon-whole those
who roller skate, are in for a big surprise. We recognize and thank
Mr. Howland for his support and contributions to the National African
American Roller Skating Archive and our skate community. We acknowledge
all those elder who have passed on, whose legacy on which we skate.
Congratulations to our first inductees into the Royal Court and
to all this years Adrenalin winners (go DMV.) Thank you, to everyone
who voted for OFSA and the work we are doing to capture and document
roller skate history, this award just like the project is for us
and by us. Nikki, Garry, Brenda, Shawn, and the Adrenalin Awards
volunteers you did a fantastic job, we appreciate all the effort
that goes into getting us all dressed up (we looked MARVELOUS!)
and sitting still long enough to recognize one another. Kudos to
Hez for his incredible design and to Nikki B. for the idea of making
the Adrenalin award itself by us, too! Peace and Blessings Tasha

First off I would
like to say thanks to God for getting everybody to and from their
respective destinations safe and from harm over the past few weeks.
It's been a while
since I repped, but here it goes! For starters, I went back home
to visit (Detroit) for a few weeks and saw all of my peeps and had
a great time. Canton, Northland, Steve Harvey party, what more could
I say. After that, Jacksonville, FL. Seville on Wheels had a great
party, and Ronnie and Rachel were the best hosts I've seen ever!
Thanks for understanding and again for everything.
Then Adrenalin....
Man, it was wonderful. Nikki, Brenda, and G-Man (The Fab 3) did
an excellent job on everything. Congrats to the winners and thanks
to everyone who nominated me and voted for me. It was a pleasure.
Thanks to the Fab 3, for letting me get my shine on for a few even
though I was out shined, LOL. The men put it down with the music
though and did great! Shouts out to DJ JB! I have not one complaint
at all. For those who missed it, I am so sorry for you. You missed
a treat. The skating, hotel and awards ceremony was awesome. My
hat goes off to you three for such a great job!
It would take forever
to name everyone I've seen over the last few months, but you know
who you are. (smiles) I will be taking the next few months off and
participating in our passion from the sidelines though, as I am
expecting a bundle of joy in October. Because I see my skate family
just as much if not more than my real family, I wanted to share
my news with you. I will still be around though getting a little
exercise, so if you see me around, try not to knock me over(Wes
Jiggs and Bee-1)! Just save the first place in the food line for
me! Thanks also for those who've kept me in their prayers (My sis
Keisha and my counselor Dean) and Ms. Pepper thanks for remaining
neutral. Love ya!
See you all soon!
Peace and blessings,

I had a great time
at the St. Louis skate party main event Apr. 27th. Unfortunately,
there was a theft of my purse from the trunk of my rental car the
next morning, Apr. 28th during morning session in the parking lot
around 10 am. I want to thank ReRe for being a beautiful sistah
and staying with me until the police came.
If anyone find any contents of it:
Large dark fake leather Brown Purse shape like a
tote bag stolen from trunk of rental car at Skate King Skating parking
lot around Kielen ave., N. Florrisant ave, STL/Normandy/Ferguson,
MO area. Has long side zipper on side of it, inside side zipper
broke, contents Chicago driver's license, Chicago state employee
ID's, keys with different keychains, dark brown wallet. Thieves
may have tossed it after taking what they wanted.
Reward if found and
returned. Not worth much but purse and wallet and charms on key
has sentimental value. PLEASE HAVE A HEART AND RETURN! Contact Pine

Hello skate family!!!
It's been awhile since we were able to send a shout out.
We have attended some pretty great skate parties where we always
have a great time and get to see all our great skating friends.
We have been keeping quite busy up here in Ontario with our own
skate club. We have been supporting our own WayCool Rollers Sunday
Night Skate in London, Ontario every Sunday night until the middle
of June which has kept us closer to home than usual. We have also
been working on our 5th Annual Roll In The Park which is a local
outdoor trail skate and picnic in June.
As many of the clubs, we do a lot of things behind the scenes to
make skating bigger and better.
Up here in Ontario, CANADA ladies flat track rollerderby is back
with a vengence, with 16 teams and getting bigger everyday, this
is all part of the skate scene up here and one of our club members
Dark Wolf is part of the London Thrashers rollerderby team.
Our club is very diverse
and we support quad and inline, indoor and outdoor rollerskating,
not to mention the 3rd Annual Charity Old School Roller Skate Jam
several weeks ago that raises money for a men's homeless shelter
in Toronto.
We are looking forward to seeing you at all the upcoming skate parties
that we will be attending. If anyone would like info on roller skating
in Canada feel free to email us anytime.
Keep your wheels to the wood and the beat in your hearts.

First, to God, for all that He has done for us.
Now, what a time, what a time I had at Skills On Wheels event this
past weekend, so many of you came and you showed out Friday and
Saturday. The music was off the hook at everything that went down.
Friday night skate with DJ Glen was great; he gave us something
that we could roll to. Then we had DJ Greg C. at the meet and greet
and no one had one bad word to say about the music because we where
to busy getting our party on. That night we had DJ Showtime Rod
from OHIO and what do I have to say, it was on and POPPIN’
in the STL that night.
Skills On Wheels, you all did your thing as you have done for years,
my hat is off to you ALL.
Shouts Out to all that came to the STL this past weekend and I mean
ALL, because it’s too many of you to start putting names out
there. It would take up my whole day and I just don’t need
to miss any one.
I’m also inviting all to roll with us in our May Day Parade
on May 18th from 1pm – 5pm if you are in the area please come
get your roll on with us. Call CD MAN at 314-435-6830 or go to stlrollers.com
and let us know that you are coming.

Chec out what what's poppin central has to say about Urban Beach
Week.
The Place: Miami Beach, Florida
What exactly is Urban
Beach Week?
Urban Beach Week, a.k.a Memorial Day weekend, on MiamiÒs
south beach is one of the premier summertime events for over 250,000
young African American Adults ages 22-30.
Urban professionals
convene on the beach to partake in a relaxing 4 days of networking,
business card passing, and seminars.
Sike!!
They come to party, see the sights and sounds of Miami, party and
did we mention the over 100 celebrity parties. Yeah it's that serious.
What happens at the
event?
Its one of the only
places you can really expect to see many of your favorite celebrities
just hanging out and having fun with everyone else.
The actual event occurs
on 3 main streets in South Beach Miami. They are Ocean, Collins,
and Washington AveÒs. Now if you're on a budget, mostly you
will spend 3 to 4 days walking the strip taking in the sights and
sounds of the Miami and Urban beach Week vibe. If you have a bit
of money you will be in the 100Òs of specialty shops and
dining restaurants. You will be in the VIP areaÒs mingling
with celebrities, taking tours and so on.
website info. www.whatspoppincentral.com www.pegsonline.com/Miami-party-pass.html
What types of activities
happen during Urban Beach Week?
There are plenty of things to get into during the event. Sign up
for the newsletter to get the latest and greatest.
Do I need a party pass?
Yes, this year the Urban Beach Week weekend passes are a must for
this weekend. Again, sign up for the newsletter for more info on
how to get them. www.whatpoppincentral.com
What do the passes
get me into?
Several of the hottest parties happening that weekend
Where exactly in Miami
is Urban Beach Week held?
South Beach host the event and the prime locations are the 2000
block and below. Collins/Washington/ Ocean are the main streets.
However, some events will be held across the causeways/bridges in
downtown MIAMI.
Will I bump into any
celebrities?
Seeing celebs - yes - bumping into - not likely, they will have
security! LOL
Don't be surprised to see a major artist and entourage sitting a
few feet away from you at the same restaurant.
Could one walk outside in the public with alcoholic beverages?
Technically it is allowed, at least if you buy a drink from Wet
Willie's and Fat Tuesday's and they let you walk around with it.
Last year people were outside Wet Willie's with their drinks. While
we don't condone breaking laws, I would suggest bring a water or
Coke bottle (better safe than sorry) or whatever to disguise incase
the Miami beach P.D. decides to change the rules for the weekend,
it could happen. I would not suggest walking with an open beer or
large bottle of liquor, as MBPD will selectively ticket you for
an open container, but might not do the same for walking with a
drink from an establishment on Ocean Drive. You will see big road
signs that say no open containers in flashing lights - they put
them out for special events.
What do visitors do
more? Hang out and chill on the strip or go partying at a club?
Due to the ridiculous amount of people coming to the event, even
if the clubs are full to capacity (and they will be) lots of people
will be out on the streets, at pool parties, or hotel parties.
Does jet skiing sound like a good idea?
Whatever floats your boat. It can be a little expensive though.
It's an activity to occupy your day!!!!!
What are the age restrictions in the clubs, if there are any?
Most drinking establishments require ID...21 and over. Some of the
clubs have dress codes...no sneakers, wife beaters, baseball caps...maybe
